Tourism Seychelles & Edelweiss Air Meet Trade Partners in Zurich

Increasing Seychelles’ visibility on the Swiss market, Tourism Seychelles joined forces with Edelweiss Air to host a promotional event.

The conference for the travel trade and media partners which was held in Zurich on February 23, 2023, was organized for the occasion at Hotel Schweizerhof. It was led by Mrs. Bernadette Willemin, Director General of Destination Marketing at Tourism Seychelles, and Mr Salvatore Salerno, the Sales Execution Steering and Distribution Manager from Edelweiss Air.

The event was aimed at informing the partners about the destination and updating them about upcoming projects.

Speaking at the event in Switzerland, Mrs. Willemin stressed the importance of the Swiss market for Seychelles.

“Switzerland remains a very important market for Seychelles and cannot be taken for granted.”

“As competition increases, this visibility event will allow the destination to reiterate its presence on the Swiss market. As one of the top performing markets of 2022, almost surpassing the 2019 arrivals statistics, we believe that with an increased presence on the market, 2023 will be a great year for this market,” said Mrs. Willemin.

Mrs. Willemin added that aside from showcasing the destination’s features, the event was also to thank the partners for their trust and outstanding performance and remind them of the accessibility between Zurich and Seychelles with Edelweiss, the only airline with direct flights to the small destination.

Also present at the conference were Ms. Judeline Edmond from Director for Switzerland at Tourism Seychelles, Mr. Urs Limacher, the Head of Sales, Services and Distribution and Mrs. Corinne Römer, Senior Manager for Marketing, Partnership and Events from Edelweiss Air.

Switzerland is currently the top 7 market for Seychelles. The market in 2022 brought 15,217 Swiss to Seychelles, almost exceeding the 2019 performance, which was 15,300 at that time and the best year for Seychelles from this market.
