Budapest Airport named Best Airport in Europe

Budapest Airport has secured the title of Airports Council International (ACI) Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Best Airport in Europe. For the first time, the Hungarian gateway has beaten its competition throughout Europe to take the title in the 15 to 25 million annual passenger category.

The awards, which are uniquely voted for by the passenger, are the conclusion of the world’s leading passenger satisfaction survey. In partnership with travel technology company Amadeus, ACI examines 30 performance indicators over key elements which measure the airport’s customer experience from security and check-in to helpfulness and cleanliness – a true passenger opinion and feedback. Based on live research direct from the traveller at the airport, the study is renowned for providing global benchmarks for the industry.

Chris Dinsdale, CEO, Budapest Airport says: “Winning this prestigious award is a truly proud moment for all at Budapest Airport. This success is the result of the joint work of the entire airport community, and I thank everyone for their dedication and commitment which has made us the best in Europe!” Dinsdale adds: “The customer is at the centre of everything we do. We actively listen to our passengers and ensure we evolve with our approach to their needs and expectations. Travel experience starts at the airport and we are exceptionally honoured to be a role model in the global aviation industry.”

Luis Felipe de Oliveira, Director General of ACI World said: “The passenger is the centre of everything, and this is reflected in every aspect of the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) program. Travellers have spoken and recognised the successful efforts of these airport communities in providing outstanding customer experience. Congratulations to the best airports for customer experience worldwide.”

ACI is the trade association of the world’s airports, representing the best interests of airports and making a significant contribution to ensure the global air transport system is safe, secure, efficient, and environmentally sustainable. The 2022 ACI ASQ Awards will be presented during a ceremony at the Customer Experience Global Summit on 6 September in Incheon.
