Climate Friendly Travel Youth Summit 2023


Young people are concerned about climate change. People young now, will be the leaders tomorrow. SunX shows leadership and invites.

World Tourism Network Chairman Juergen Steinmetz announced he was proud to partner with WTN member SUNx Malta. SunX invites members and eTurboNews readers to register for the Third Climate Friendly Travel Youth Summit “SEYS 3”.

This virtual event is live streamed on eTurboNews, YouTube, and other partners from Malta, taking place on April 27th, 2023, from 15:00 – 17:00 CEST (Central European Time), or 9.00-11.00 EST, 21.00-23.00 Singapore/ China.

SunX is under the leadership of Professor Geoffrey Lipman. He explained

The Youth Summit will discuss, and aims..

– To strengthen the “Clean & Green” spirit that Maurice Strong showed half a century ago when he launched the UN Climate & Sustainability Framework. 
– To highlight the role of young leaders in building a globally Climate Friendly Travel System 
– To reaffirm our Pledge to support the World’s Poorest States in Climate Resilience and Emission Reduction.
– To launch the 2023 Strong Earth Awards to be presented at  “Shiftin” Les Roches Switzerland

SEYS is an annual tribute to Maurice Strong, climate activist for over 50 years and Secretary General of the first “Earth Summit” in 1972 and the second Earth Summit in 1992.

The event, organized by SUNx Malta (Strong Universal Network), will highlight the need for a clean and green future for the tourism sector, following Maurice’s vision, Paris 1.5, and the SDGs.

Speakers include:

Leslie Vella, Mossadeck Bally, Jocelin Favre Bulle, Prof. Geoffrey Lipman, Ged Brown, Maud Kisiwaya, Hans Friederich, Bo Pellech, Felix Dodds, Alain St. Ange, Juergen Steinmetz among others.
