Tourism in Croatia flourish | .TR

Since January 1, when Croatia joined the Schengen area and the eurozone, tourism has increased by 20% compared to 2022, registering about 5 million arrivals and more than 17.5 million overnight stays.

In this way, the authorities hope Croatia registers a record year in tourism. Activities had grown by 20% since January when the country entered the Schengen space, advances Reuters, which cites the Croatian tourism authorities.

Kristijan Stanicic, director of tourism in Croatia, said: “So far, we recorded almost five million arrivals and more than 17.5 million overnight stays, an increase of 20% compared to last year.

In 2022, Croatia’s tourism sector generated revenues of 14 billion euros, and expectations for 2023 are even higher, primarily since Croatia’s accession to the Schengen area and the Eurozone in January 2023 will facilitate travel to the country by European tourists, especially from neighboring countries.
