Ajay Devgn starrer Tanhaji clocks 3; actor calls it “a dream & an honour” : Bollywood News

On Tuesday, January 10, Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn celebrated three years of Om Raut’s Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, which is also his highest-grossing film. Ajay shared a reel video, posted on his production banner’s Instagram handle. The video montage featured multiple clips of iconic scenes from the Om Raut directorial.

Instagramming the post in the story section of his verified Insta handle, Ajay wrote, “Playing the role of Tanhaji was a dream and an honour, that resulted in the highest grosser of 2020 and also won us two National Award wins. Happy and Humbled.” For the unversed, Tanhaji is a blockbuster film with a total of Rs 279.55 crores collection.

Coming to the professional front, in 2022, the 53-year-old actor delivered his second highest-grossing film, Drishyam 2. The film, helmed by Abhishek Pathak, marked the return of all its main characters, played by Tabu, Shriya Saran, Mrunal Jadhav, Ishita Dutta, and Rajat Kapoor, among others. Meanwhile, Akshaye Khanna made his debut in the Drishyam series and played the role of a cop.

Moving forward, Ajay Devgn has an interesting line-up for this year with Bholaa and Maidaan being in his kitty. Post the release of Drishyam 2, the actor jetted off to Varanasi for the shooting of Bholaa. Earlier this month, he announced the wrap for the upcoming film. It is slated to release in theatres on March 30, 2023.

On the other hand, speaking of Maidaan, Bollywood Hungama had earlier reported that it will release on May 12, 2023. A source told us, “As of now Maidaan will be released on May 12, 2023. Since it is an open window with next to no release till June 2 when the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan hits screens, the movie will benefit immensely. In this period the only two releases are Yaariyaan 2 and Swatantra Veer Savarkar, both of which are expected to post no competition to Maidaan.”
