A preview concert featuring Saskia Laroo Band with guest Lucas Santana will thrill fans with a taste of what’s to come this May 2-7, 2023.

SKAL International Koh Samui has officially announced the dates of its 2023 Samui Summer Jazz Festival with a sensational preview concert featuring jazz trumpet sensation Saskia Laroo and her Band, and special guest Lucas Santana which had the audience at the 5-star Santiburi Resort on their feet dancing to Laroo’s unique brand of jazz hip hop.

Following its successful relaunch in June this year, the ‘Samui Summer Jazz Festival’ will return to Samui next May 2-7 when once again, a line-up of 20+ top international jazz musicians mainly from the Netherlands and USA will collaborate with the cream of Thailand’s leading jazz artists such as Koh Mr. Saxman to perform 6 nightly concerts at 6 of the island’s leading 5-star hotels.

Participating venues include: Centara Reserve Samui; Hansar Samui; Santiburi Samui; Six Senses Resort & Spa; SEEN Beach Club at the Avani Samui and W Koh Samui.

Details of the exact line-up will be announced in due course, meanwhile, packages including all or selected concerts, food & beverage options, and such.

The Samui Summer Jazz Festival return to the island this year is thanks to an ongoing friendship between SKAL Samui President, Jane Soergel and Dutch tenor sax supremo Alexander Beets, organizer of the main event in Holland, the Amersfoort Jazz Festival.

At the preview,  Jane Soergel said:

“SKAL Samui and its generous sponsors is proud to put its name to this event.”

“It not only supports tourism in Samui but also promotes cultural cooperation bringing together top international jazz musicians with some of the best of Thailand’s jazz talent to create something special for local and international audiences.”

“Through this year’s concert, we were also able to donate THB100,000 to our charity partner Sisters on Samui [SOS] to support their underprivileged children’s education program, and next year we hope to do even better.” she added.

Meanwhile, festival organizer Alexander Beets said, “We’re delighted to have the opportunity to return to Samui next year to perform alongside our jazz friends here in Thailand and to perform at some of its most stunning beachside venues on this beautiful island. We also hope that our success here in Samui might entice other Thailand destinations to host our festival moving forward.”
