What’s new in Nice France hotels

The city of Nice itself has recently been classified by UNESCO as a winter resort town of the French Riviera.

Being a year-round destination, Nice and the nearby French Riviera resorts of St. Tropez, Monaco, Cannes, and Alpes-Maritimes have no shortage of exciting activities. Nice offers a vibrant nightlife on the Promenade des Anglais, a local farmers market at Cours Saleya, spectacular museums honouring the city’s rich artistic history, and annual cultural events such as the legendary Nice Jazz Festival.

There are several areas to consider for hotels in Nice, France.

Nice City Centre

In the Nice City Centre, guests appreciate the historical sites, restaurants, and beach access. It is a romantic neighborhood with great shops and cafes where visitors may learn about local heritage at landmarks like Basilique Notre Dame and Nice Cathedral. There’s plenty more to see, including Massena Museum and Hôtel Negresco.

Old Town Nice

The Old Town neighborhood is also known for its beaches and restaurants, as is most areas, but here there is the distinct flavor of old-world charm. Visitors are enticed by the like of Cours Saleya and Nice Cathedral.

Centre Ville-Gare

This neighborhood offers attractions such as the Basilique Notre Dame where close to a million people visit every year, and Avenue Jean Medecin which residents simply refer to as “The Avenue,” and is the city’s main shopping street.

Carre d’Or

In the Carre d’Or neighborhood, attractions like Blue Beach and Casino Ruhl with over 280 slot machines are ready to be enjoyed and explored.

L’Arenas

At L’Arenas, visitors are surrounded by modern Phoenix Park and Promenade des Anglais, one of the most iconic French boulevards lined with restaurants, bars, ice-cream stalls, and more.

Jean-Medecin

If shopping is high on the list of activities, Jean-Medecin offers Nice Etoile Shopping Center, a 7-story indoor mall with over 90 shops and restaurants, and Avenue Jean Medecin.

What’s new

New on the hotel scene is the Anantara Plaza Nice Hotel in a rejuvenated 19th century architectural jewel on Nice’s boardwalk. It marks a triumphant return of one of the most storied hotels on Côte d’Azur and a continuation of Anantara’s European expansion. The heritage property overlooking the Promenade des Anglais is now open following an extensive 2-year renovation to its Belle Époque era glory.
