New CEO at San Antonio Hotel Emma at Pearl


Hotel Emma at Pearl General Manager promoted to Chief Executive Officer

Hotel Emma at Pearl is pleased to announce that Jon Sakshaug has been promoted to the role of CEO, effective February 2023. Jon previously served as Hotel Emma’s General Manager, overseeing the property’s business operations to ensure an exceptional level of service.

Prior to his role as General Manager, Jon was the Vice President of Finance at Hotel Emma. He was also a member of its opening team in 2015. With over eight years of experience working with Hotel Emma, Jon will use his deep understanding of the property’s history, ethos, and vision to manage operations across all divisions of the hotel. As CEO, he will maintain and improve upon the level of premium service the property is known for, develop disruptive initiatives, and execute refined strategies to meet and exceed overarching goals.

With over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Jon began his hotel finance career at The Peninsula New York and held various operational roles. Leaning towards the independent, private, and entrepreneurial side of hospitality, Jon played an instrumental role in launching and running some of the most unique properties in the United States. Formerly the Chief Financial Officer for The Garrett Hotel Group portfolio, Jon oversaw the renowned Relais and Châteaux properties including The Inn of Five Graces, Lake Placid Lodge, and The Point. Jon additionally opened up the acclaimed The Ivy Hotel Baltimore and Hotel Teatro, Denver.

With his hospitality prowess and abundance of experience particularly with boutique and independent properties, Jon holds a remarkable wealth of knowledge, passion and expertise that will help lead the hotel to a new level of success under his direction. Through his guidance and strategic approach, Jon will play a key role in helping Hotel Emma flourish and uphold its signature standard of excellence and luxury.
