TradeWinds Island Resorts appoints new VP of Sales and Marketing


Industry veteran with over 23 years of experience in resort sales named Vice President of Sales and Marketing at TradeWinds Island Resorts.

The TradeWinds Island Resorts – the Island Grand Resort and RumFish Beach Resort – located along beaches on the island of St. Pete Beach, Florida, has announced Rob Ferguson as Vice President of Sales & Marketing. In this position, Ferguson will develop, drive, and lead new business opportunities for the popular beachfront landmark. He will also support prospective accounts and collaborate and mentor inside sales team members. Ferguson will serve as a member of the Executive Committee and maintain relationships with area visitor bureaus, travel agents, meeting planners and other travel trade industry representatives.

“With the expansion of the RumFish Beach Resort completed and more exciting additions on the horizon, we’re thrilled to have Rob on board to lead the way with the sales and marketing team,” said Travis Johnson, Hotel Manager, TradeWinds Island Resorts.

Prior to joining TradeWinds, Ferguson was Area Director of Sales & Marketing for the Grand Hyatt Nashville and Nashville Yards, where he led the successful launch and opening of the Grand Hyatt Nashville, part of the 18-acre Nashville Yards’ $4.5 billion lifestyle, work, and entertainment district. He also worked as Regional Vice President, Sales & Marketing for Highgate Hotels, with a portfolio of 15 unique properties across California and Nevada. Ferguson also has extensive sales experience with Marriott Hotels, including the Westin Denver International Airport and the Marriott Harbor Beach in Florida, and HEI Hotels and Resorts, a third-party management group based in Connecticut.

Located on Florida’s Gulf Coast, the TradeWinds Island Resorts offer more than 88,000 square feet of flexible function space. The resorts offer access to 2 properties in one, with limitless beachfront recreation, sumptuous dining, and exclusive golf privileges at some of the area’s finest public and private clubs.
