What Makes IMEX?

As preparations are made to turn Messe Frankfurt into a giant business events community hub, organizers have been asking, “What makes IMEX?”

It’s the people, always the people

This may seem an odd question for an established show, but as show-prepping is taking place, IMEX has also been reworking its mission statement. So when this question came up, the overriding answer was a simple one – it’s people together in a community hub that celebrates connection, collaboration, and co-creativity.

Where people are gathering

In just a few short weeks, people will be heading to Frankfurt for expert insight; emotional intelligence and experiential design; fun, frivolity, and friendships at joyous events, from the IMEXrun to the Gala Dinner; and too-many-to-mention opportunities to meet with the global events community over 4 fabulous days. Bookmark the IMEX Daily News microsite now for all the news from the build-up, the show floor, and more.

Who people are talking with

Launched successfully at IMEX America last year, our AVoice4All program, in association with Destination Toronto, runs throughout IMEX in May. Conceived by Dale Hudson, IMEX Knowledge and Events Director, the program’s aim is to enable everyone to design inclusive human-centric events and workplaces.

What people are embracing

One of the star speakers at IMEX 2023, Christopher Salem, will talk about emotional intelligence as the ultimate transferable skill. He will discuss interdependency over co-dependency, why shared values and shared environment matter, and why meaningful human connection is everything.

Where people are working

Since everyone’s lives got upended in 2020, people have embraced WFH (working from home), WFA (working from anywhere), and even WFB (working from bed!). Or have they? It is innate human nature to work alongside other humans towards a common purpose. The happy pre-show buzz at IMEX HQ is evidence of the benefits – as is this essay on the many gifts of an in-person workplace. It’s not just the on-tap barista-quality coffee, it’s the divine “entanglement.”

Join the people

Join the people in person and face to face at IMEX Frankfurt 2023. Registration is open now and the event’s pre-show appointment system allows participants to ease their way into making those human connections.

IMEX Frankfurt runs from Tuesday,  May 23, to Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Messe Frankfurt in Germany.

eTurboNews is a media partner for IMEX and will be exhibiting at the Frankfurt event.
