New Associate VP of Tourism Development at Visit Salt Lake

Antonette Eckert recently joined Visit Salt Lake (VSL) as Associate Vice President of Tourism Development. She will be responsible for managing VSL’s growing portfolio of destination assets and associated opportunities in the travel trade space, working with local suppliers and domestic and international distributors to expand the trade segment for Salt Lake globally.

“Anton is an experienced brand builder, strategic marketer and data geek who loves to cross industries, departments and cultural boundaries to maximize results for travel brands and products,” said Chief Brand & Marketing Officer Tyler Gosnell. “We’re excited to have her on our team as we strategically and sustainably increase the travel trade sector of tourism for Salt Lake County.”

Most recently, Anton was the Chief Industry Development Officer at Travel Nevada where she reconstructed their global representation strategy to drive post-pandemic visitation and spend; launched learning platforms for both travel advisors and local ambassadors to improve overall visitor experience; reimagined the rural marketing grant program to insure equity and accountability across the state; and instituted a destination development program to create long-term community led strategic plans for rural Nevada. She’s led global travel trade sales and marketing teams at state, city and rural DMOs including Visit California, San Francisco Travel and Visit Vacaville, CA.

“I’m so excited about working with this team of professionals in Salt Lake,” said Eckert. “I look forward to building alliances and partnerships, taking on new challenges and building our brand while increasing tourism traffic.”
