Condor Airlines flights from Germany to Barbados again

eTurboNews:

The Chairman of the BTMI Board, Shelly Williams issued this statement:

We just concluded a successful tour of England, Scotland, and Ireland, meeting with top travel partners, including tour operators, travel agents, and airlines, to assess Barbados’ position in the market and explore opportunities for increasing business. From all reports, we are confident that Barbados is in good standing with the UK market for the upcoming winter season.

As we shift our focus towards Europe, we look forward to executing our new direction for that market, which begins with our airlift strategy. For the past year, during our post-COVID recovery, the BTMI’s main goal was to secure and defend airlift for Barbados to ensure we did not lose our momentum and presence in Europe.

As those in the tourism industry know, traditionally, Germany has been the stronger market for Barbados within the European bloc; that’s why we are pleased to announce the return of Condor Airlines for the upcoming Winter season — 2023-2024. Condor will offer a twice-weekly direct service between Barbados and Germany to ensure that we remain connected with Europe.

After months of discussions, we are excited to be able to bring this news to the market. Within the coming weeks, we will share updates jointly with Condor about the service and their new aircraft, however, tickets are already on sale on Condor’s website at  www.condor.com.

We also take this opportunity to thank KLM Royal Dutch Airlines for stepping up and filling the European void created during the pandemic. This successful partnership provided us with a 3-times weekly direct service between Barbados and Amsterdam this past Winter season. However, the partnership has now concluded as the airline’s operations are strategically going in a different direction.

Our focus for Europe, therefore, will be on solidifying our presence in Germany and aggressively deploying sales and marketing tools to continue to grow business for Barbados in that market.

About Barbados

The island of Barbados offers a unique Caribbean experience steeped in rich history and colorful culture and rooted in remarkable landscapes.

Barbados is the home of two of the three remaining Jacobean Mansions left in the Western hemisphere and fully functional rum distilleries.

This island is known as the birthplace of rum, commercially producing and bottling the spirit since the 1700s. Each year, Barbados hosts several world-class events, including the annual Barbados Food and Rum Festival, Barbados Reggae Festival, and the annual Crop Over Festival, where celebrities such as Lewis Hamilton and its own Rihanna are often spotted.

Accommodations are wide and varied, ranging from picturesque plantation houses and villas to quaint bed-and-breakfast gems, prestigious international chains, and award-winning five-diamond resorts. In 2018, Barbados’ accommodation sector captured 13 awards in the Top Hotels Overall, Luxury, All-Inclusive, Small, Best Service, Bargain, and Romance categories of the ‘Traveler’s Choice Awards’.

And getting to paradise is a breeze: the Grantley Adams International Airport offers plenty of non-stop and direct services from a growing number of U.S., U.K., Canadian, Caribbean, European, and Latin American gateways, making Barbados the true gateway to the Eastern Caribbean. Visit Barbados and experience why for two years in a row, it won the prestigious Star Winter Sun Destination Award at the ‘Travel Bulletin Star Awards’ in 2017 and 2018.
