The LMD comprising of Joint Controller VS Sambyal, Inspectors, Manpreet Kour, Jagdeep Raj and Sumit Bhardwaj inspected a number of business establishments at Wavemall dealing with Bags, Garments, Food items and Footwear.
During the inspection, officers found nine establishments violating different provisions of Packaged Commodities Rules, J&K Weights and Measures (Enf) Act 1997 and Legal Metrology Act, 2009. On the occasion, it was found that violations related to overcharging, display of packages for sale to the consumers without complete address of manufacturer, smudging of MRP on garments and other household items affixed by the manufacturer, use of peg measures without re-verification and use of rotten vegetables in restaurants.
