Power connections will be seeded with Aadhar cards

Jammu : In order to identify the genuine power consumers and increase the revenue generation, the electric connections would be seeded with the Aadhaar cards and the ration cards being issued by the Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) department. The decision was taken in a high-level meeting chaired by the Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh.
Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali was also present. Commissioner/Secretary, Power development department, PDD, Hridesh Kumar Commissioner/ Secretary, Food Civil FCS&CA, M D Khan, Directors of FCS&CA, Kashmir, Jammu, and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
The meeting decided that the electric power connections would be seeded with the ration cards already issued by FCS&CA department in order to increase the revenue generation and also ensure proper distribution of the electricity to various areas.It was also given out that by adopting the mechanism power pilferage would also be checked as connections would be provided to genuine consumers.
