Parineeti Chopra will next be seen in the film Saina which is based on the life of ace badminton player Saina Nehwal. Recently, the actress shared her journey of stepping into the shoes of Saina Nehwal for the fim.
In a behind the scenes video, Parineeti opened up about how she transformed into Saina and learned the sport. The video begins with Parineeti talking about how she used to wake up early for training and had to get into the mindset of an athlete before learning the sport.
However, she also had bad days when she used to cry in the badminton court and felt like she could not do this film anymore. Towards the end of the video, the actress said that the idea was not to act like Saina, but to be Saina.
Parineeti had got on board the film directed by Amole Gupte in 2019 after Shraddha Kapoor backed out of the project. The film traces Saina Nehwals’ journey from being born in a middle class family in Haryana to becoming World No. 1 badminton player.
Saina will hit the theatres on March 26.
