Known for her witty sense of humour, Twinkle Khanna often leaves audiences stumped with her quirky stories and smart comebacks. This is true not just in reality but also on social media. The actress turned author is currently playing the dual role of a writer and a student, for which, she has been shuttling between continents. While she was down in India for the holiday season, she decided to do a very ‘Mumbaiyaa’ thing – take an auto rickshaw ride and she was accompanied by her daughter Nitara. During the same, she couldn’t help but recall the time when she realized that her rickshaw driver had kept a knife under his seat for self-defense.

Twinkle Khanna revealed in a social media post about how she once had a conversation with an auto rickshaw driver about his life. The latter confessed that he owns some amount of gold and when she asked him to not spread this information for his own safety, the driver revealed how he carried around a knife for defending himself from the robbers. She posted this video of her taking a rickshaw ride with daughter Nitara and recalled the experience in her caption saying, “I recall one ride where I began the journey by asking, Bhaisaab, how many years have you been driving this auto?” The diminutive driver replied, “Memsaab one year now, before I do embroidery work. I didn’t like… but good money. Saved and bought seven gold biscuits, all gone in daughter’s marriage now. But, I still have one gold biscuit left at home so god is kind.”
She continued, “While getting off the rickshaw I gave him some kind advice, “Don’t tell anyone about the gold biscuit bhaisaab! One never knows what kind of people are out there. Someone may murder you.” He blinked rather manically and in a hackneyed manner replied, “Ma ka doodh piya hai, let someone try, I will cut his throat.” Which was all well and good, Bollywood influences and all I thought, till he pulled out a butcher’s knife from under his seat and said, “See this!”
The actress turned author however, maintained that her recent ride was nothing like that. “Today, there were no knives and this turned out to be an unexpected but great end to my last day in town as the little one and I giggled all the way back home. Drop a <3 if you love Bombay and all its madness too,” she concluded.
