Jammu: A lover killed a girl for her refusal to marry and later committed suicide in Ramgarh in Samba district. According to police sources Anil Kumar in his late twenties was in love with a young girl of his village Dugg Channi in Ramgarh near international border in Samba district , but the girl did not entertain his request to marry her. She was engaged to some one else. She and her family were opposed to the marriage proposal of Anil Kumar , the police said . According to sources, girl’s marriage was fixed on 18th of this month. Angered by the this, anil chopped the girl to death. The incident took place this evening when the 20 year old girl identified as Rimpy, daughter of Bauti Ram was alone at her residence and a youth living in the same neighborhood who has been identified as Anil Kumar S/o Kair Singh intruded into her room and attacked her. Police said Anil inflicted multiple injuries with Kirtch at various parts of her body. The girl fell in a pool of blood and succumbed to her injuries. The youth later went on the roof top of the same house and killed himself with the same sharp edged weapon. This is first of its kind incident in the rural belt of Samba district. Panic gripped the area as the news spread in the village and surrounding localities. The body of the girl was handed over to family for last rites after postmortem. However, the body of youth is lying in Ramnagar hospital for postmortem.
