Earlier this month, the Discover Dominica Authority participated in the Salon du Voyage et des Vacances held at the Palais des Congrès de Madiana, in Schoelcher, Martinique.
The Salon du Voyage et des Vacances is one of the largest consumer travel shows in the French West Indies. For the organizers of the event; the show returned after three years due to the pandemic and was a resounding success. Since its inception in 1998, this travel show’s main objective is to highlight offers and future offers of hotels, travel agencies, tour operators, tourism offices, and other tourism service providers to its public. Show organizers averaged over 50 participating tourism service providers and 20,000 attendees to the three-day event.
“The French West Indies is a key source market for Dominica and it was important for us to be present. There was excitement for the offers and the interactive game with attendees which will allow us to build a relationship over time. On average we had 1500 visitors over the three days of the travel show to the Dominica booth and noted that this was one of the top locations (Martinique) to directly search and visit the main website in the corresponding period,” Ms. Kimberly King – Destination Marketing Manager.
