Israeli Tourists Visiting Tanzania for Passover


Over 240 tourists from Israel have opted to spend their Easter holiday in northern Tanzania, Zanzibar beaches, and heritage sites

Celebrating Easter Holiday in Africa, a group of Israel tourists arrived in Tanzania and are visiting the premier northern wildlife parks for a weeklong holiday.

A report from the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) said that the visitors from Israel arrived in northern Tanzania a few days ago and are now touring Tarangire, Ngorongoro, and Serengeti wildlife parks as part of their Easter Holiday itinerary.

Over 240 tourists from Israel have opted to spend their Easter holiday in northern Tanzania, Zanzibar beaches, and heritage sites, the report said.

The Israeli holidaymakers will be visiting Tanzania in the heart of Africa, while several African Christians are making their annual pilgrimage to Holy sites in Israel to commemorate Passover celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Tanzania Tourist Board had launched marketing campaigns targeting Israeli tourists in large numbers, while Tanzanians were looking to travel to Israel for religious pilgrimages.

Israel, the Christian Holy Land, attracts big groups of visitors from Africa wanting to visit its religious historical sites, mostly the Christian Holy places of Jerusalem, Nazareth, and Bethlehem, the Sea of Galilee, and the healing water and mud of the Dead Sea.

African Christian pilgrims visit Israel between March and April every year to pay respects to the various Holy Sites in both Israel and Jordan.

Tanzania is among African destinations now marketing their tourism in Israel to attract Israeli visitors.

Several companies from Tel Aviv are currently marketing African tourism in Israel.

Tanzania and Israel seek to boost bilateral relations that would attract more Israeli tourists and businesspeople, encouraging them to visit and invest in this African safari destination.

Israel is one of the emerging markets for Tanzania tourism.
