German Rail to operate as scheduled after strike was cancelled

German transportation has been unpredictable for a year. Strikes or no strike is the question – constantly.

The German labor union EVG representing more than 200,000 railway workers in Germany, canceled its plans for a two-day strike.

It appears most key demands were met.

The EVG union planned for its members to cripple rail transportation in Germany for 50 hours starting Sunday night.

Rail company Deutsche Bahn said this would have affected all long-distance travel during that period and warned that most regional trains also wouldn’t run.
