According to the Ministry of Tourism’s recent report, Mexico received approximately 13,235,000 international visitors between January 1 and April 30, 2023. This shows a 13.7% increase compared to the same period in 2022. The report also reveals that foreign exchange earnings from international visitors amounted to $10.744 million during the first four months of the year, a 17% increase from last year.
During the first four months of fiscal year 2022, Mexican residents spent 2.414 billion dollars on their trips abroad, 32.6% higher than the previous year.
According to the Ministry of Tourism’s report on international tourist visits to Mexico by country of origin, 7,394,000 visitors arrived by air between January and April. Of those visitors,
- 56.9% came from the United States;
- 16% from Canada;
- 3.2% from Colombia;
- 1.8% from the United Kingdom and 1.9% from France.
Finally, according to the report, the top airports in Mexico for international visitors from January to April 2023 were Cancun, Mexico City, Los Cabos, Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Cozumel, and Mazatlan.
