New Chief of Sales and Marketing at Cape Resorts

Cape Resorts, leading regional hospitality investment and management company with nine distinctive classic American resort properties throughout historic Cape May, New Jersey and the East End of New York, announces the appointment of Kate Harth as Chief Sales & Marketing Officer. With decades of hospitality industry experience, Harth brings a wealth of knowledge from various markets – domestically and globally – to Cape Resorts’ portfolio.

Most recently, Harth worked in asset management at Fulcrum Hospitality, overseeing sales and marketing for a select group of hotels. Prior to that, she was the general manager of The New York EDITION, and pre-opening general manager of The West Hollywood EDITION. Her interest in employees and commitment to individuals was further magnified when she was instrumental in developing the culture for EDITION. For over 15 years, Kate was instrumental to the sales and marketing for numerous Marriott and Ritz-Carlton Hotels, and facilitated the company’s sales training, worldwide. In 2007, she was named one of the Top 25 Minds in Sales and Marketing by the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI).

Harth has worked in the hotel industry for over 30 years, and has a background in diverse and distinct markets as well as working knowledge in many facets of the varying types of hotels: boutique, resort, city, convention, mid-tier, lifestyle, luxury, independent and big chain, both domestically and globally. In her new role, Harth will oversee strategic development and implementation of Cape Resorts’ national sales plan, supporting sales revenue and growth as the portfolio continues to grow and expand. From creative ideation to business strategy, Harth will play a key role at all of Cape Resorts’ distinct and unique properties, including the soon-to–relaunch Pridwin Hotel & Cottages (Shelter Island, NY), Congress Hall (Cape May, NJ), The Virginia Hotel & Cottages (Cape May, NJ), Beach Plum Farm (Cape May, NJ), and Baron’s Cove (Sag Harbor, NY), among others.

Widely known for her expertise in hospitality and exceptional leadership, Harth is a champion for the guest experience; she is uniquely experienced in taking hotel brands to the ‘next level’ and works with organizations that want to deliver on results and be inspired by one another. Kate will build up the sales team at Cape Resorts to prepare for growth and drive occupancies during non-peak traditional times at seasonal properties. An exuberant leader who drives results through an enthusiastic, fun, and collaborative approach, she insists on seeing impressive, measurable results and is driven by an eagerness to work collaboratively with all stakeholders.

Harth holds a BA from Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island, and has studied business at The Sorbonne in Paris, France. She has been an adjunct professor for NYU’s Graduate School of Marketing Leadership in Hospitality and Tourism, mentoring students at NYU as well as Cornell University and Johnson & Wales. She has been involved in the Big Brother/Big Sister Organization for over 7 years, and is a four-time Marathon runner.
